General info:
Bangladesh came into existence in 1971 when Bengali East Pakistan seceded from its union with West Pakistan and can be
found in southern Asia, bordering the Bay of Bengal, between Burma and India. Its capital city is Dhaka. The terrain is mostly flat alluvial plain
and hilly in southeast.
International disputes:
A portion of the boundary with India is indefinite. The exchange of 151 enclaves along the border with India is subject to ratification by the Indian parliament. South Talpatty/New Moore Island is merely matter of dispute with India.
Visas:
Bangladesh visas are valid for six months from the date of issue and are good for stays of one or three months.
Health risks:
Cholera, dysentery, hepatitis, malaria and meningococcal meningitis.
Bangladesh flag:
In Bangladesh we were arguing about the red circle´s place on the flag. As this seems to be quite important for the
QSL-card I searched from a more detailed info:
"Flag adopted 13 January 1972 (...)
The national flag is bottle green in color and rectangular in size with the length to width ratio of 10:6 bearing a red
circle on the body of the green. The red circle has a radius of one fifth of the length of the flag. Its center is placed
on the middle of the perpendicular drawn from the nine twentieth part of the flag. The background color symbolizes the
greenery of Bangladesh with its vitality and youthfulness while the red disc represents the rising sun and the
sacrifice our people made to obtain our independence."
